......No I haven't seen it yet. Been far too busy watching The World Cup.

However, I've noticed this very split opinion on the matter. Almost an exact 50/50 on the subject of Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Half of the people are saying something to the effect of.
"It's actually alot better than the previous 3. It's about the Transformers at last and no Shia Lebeouf!"

While the other is saying.
"THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!! I HATE MICHAEL BAY AND I WISH HE WAS DEAD AND I AM NEVER WATCHING THESE MOVIES AGAIN!!!!!!"

Here's a small problem I have with the latter. You said that about the FIRST Transformers movie!!! No seriously, I saw alot of people vow to never watch the series after Movie #1. Yet here I see them writing reviews for Movie #4 with the same speeches. Stop saying "I WILL NEVER WATCH AGAIN, CUS IT'S RUINING MY CHILDHOOD!!!!" when you blindly que up to watch, just to talk shit about it.

I hated Twilight, vowed to never watch the other installments. And I haven't looked back since.

Look, I'm not going to pretend these movies are "epic masterpieces" but I enjoy them for what they are, and the same reason I enjoy dumb 80's action movies. It's a mindless and bloody stupid action movie. A refreshing contrast to the "I'm dark, brooding and I want to be Chris Nolan's Batman series so badly!" I see in modern cinema these days.

What is so wrong with a movie that isn't trying to be Citizen Kane but wants to be Commando? I will grant you, I now side with the audience that utterly hates Revenge of the Fallen. It's the weakest of the movies.

However all I've asked from this series is 3 simple things.

1: Make it about Transformers.
2: Ditch Shia Lebeouf.
3: Ditch Megan Fox.

And this one has apparently done those requirements. So I'm happy tbh.

Yeah so I just saw it against my better judgement and... It was pretty good/alright. Well, the first half of this movie was excellent, just wonderful. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! At last! Proper development this time, and it was more Transformers focused, and Peter Cullen seriously gave the best performance he's ever given. I mean yeah there could've been a bit more character development, but as it stands it made me finally give a shit about the characters.

And in contrast to the previous movies, I liked the humans, but lets not focus on the humans right now ok?

Personally, I kinda felt a Beast Wars vibe with some of the characters. Hound felt like Rhinox, Crosshairs felt like Rattrap, Drift felt like Dinobot, only not as bad ass but still had a few elements, and Bumblebee, well if Cheetor was a shallow mute, but you can't have them all I guess. Lockdown was great, a lot of fun to watch. Galvatron, loved him! ... for the 5 minutes we saw him.

The movie kinda broke down a bit with the second half, even the final big action scene felt unfocused and muddled, and it wasn't as interesting as the first half. Still, despite the crappy second and third movies, I would definitely say this is my favourite entry in the movie series and I still enjoyed the first film. Yeah it's still a guilty pleasure, but it's now less guilty. 6/10 is fair enough for it. I hope, they continue at this level but also continue to improve because, they're honestly getting there. This was the one movie, at least for the first half of it, where it finally felt like a Transformers film.

If you liked some of the last few movies you'll like this, if you hated the last few movies, yeah don't bother still, just to be safe. Although personally Random, I think you'd love it, even if it is long as shit. :D
