Description

Let's shoot through these.

It does make logical sense for Nintendo and Sega to work together. It's basically gone back to how it was before Sonic Heroes came out. With Sonic exclusively on Nintendo hardware again is putting the Wii U more in my favour.... if I didn't have a 3DS of course :P

First of all, YES the trailer looks good and the CG is well put together... but that's really not the point. They always LOOK good but with zero gameplay it's hard to get excited or a feel of what the game is going to be like.

That's my problem with game trailers lately, they show either little to no gameplay. A movie trailer shows you clips of the movie to make you want to see it. Yet with a game you see gameplay to make you want to play it. That's how it works.

Yet here are a few problems I have with the concept of Arkham Origins.

1 - The Name.
Yes, we're going to nitpick today. Yet I say that because this the 3rd game in the Arkham Series yet it really has nothing to do with the theme (that we know of) the other two established. Let me explain.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Joker's taking over the famous complex and you have to shut him and the place down.

Batman: Arkham City - Hugo Strange is in charge of a more advanced and out of control complex and Batman needs to shut it and Strange down.

Batman: Arkham Origins: Batman Vs. 8 Assassins.

See what I mean? What does any of this have to do with Arkham Asylum? That would be like a prequel to Resident Evil being about Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine running a Taxi business. The fact this is a prequel to the first game yet it has little in common with it (based on current infomation) baffles me.

2 - It's a sodding prequel!!
I feared there would be no way to top the ending of Arkham City and sadly I have been proven right! I guess the idea of "Arkham State" seemed too complicated so we're going down the prequel road instead of advancing the story. The problem with prequels is they have limited ways to surprise you due to being connected to the existing matrial. You know characters like Batman or Joker won't be killed off because they live to be in 2 sequels.

3 - New ideas.
The game may include newer gadgets or ideas that will make me think "So you didn't use this in Arkham City WHY?" This is why prequels can be a risky thing to do in some instances.

Will I play it? Yes but I'll be grumbling it's not "Arkham Galaxy"

You know, I can rag on COD for milking itself every flipping year, but least they don't announce a new game JUST AS THE LATEST ONE HITS THE SHELVES. Seriously who the fuck is still watching these shitty Fast & Furious movies? When the average Boyracer recreates it for themselves on the average British highstreet.

It will be a shame to see some actors not reprise there roles but that's how things go tbh.

Fuck you Disney!

and yeah, that's all I have to say about those subjects.

A Resident Evil prequel involving taxi driving would actually be awesome. It could be a fusion of Crazy Taxi and Carmeggedon where Chris and Jill have to mow down zombies in their car while getting people to their destinations in a timely manner.

Also, there will be moments in the game where the two get locked out of their car, which will be important to Jill's origin story.
